1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using the Notepad app you accept these terms of use. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app and remove it from your device.
2. Licence
codeblanks grants you a non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the app on your own devices, for personal or commercial purposes. This right does not include:
- Copying and redistributing, selling, renting or sublicensing the app or any part of it
- Reverse engineering, decompiling or deriving another app from it (except where applicable law expressly permits it)
- Removing or altering any copyright, trademark or ownership notices in the app
3. Price
The app is free. Version 1.0.0 contains no subscriptions, in-app purchases or ads. If a paid feature is added later, it will be clearly marked inside the app and will not put existing features behind a payment.
4. Your content is yours
All notes, images and drawings you create in the app are your content and belong to you. codeblanks claims no rights over that content and cannot access it — it exists only on your device. You alone are responsible for the lawfulness of what you store.
5. Backup is your responsibility
Because the app works offline and offers no cloud backup, keeping a backup of your notes is your responsibility. Data is lost permanently, and cannot be recovered by the developer, in cases such as:
- Uninstalling the app
- Clearing the app's data from device settings
- Losing, damaging or factory-resetting the device
- Permanently deleting a note from the trash
We recommend using the app's JSON export regularly and keeping the exported file somewhere other than the device itself.
Password warning
Your app lock password and your encryption key exist only on your device. The developer has no way to reset the password, recover it, or decrypt your encrypted notes. If you forget it, recovery is possible only through whatever options the app itself provides.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, no warranty is given, express or implied, that the app will run without interruption, be free of defects, be fit for a particular purpose, or behave identically on every device and every version of Android.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, codeblanks is not liable for loss of data, loss of business, loss of profit, or for indirect, incidental or punitive damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app. This limitation does not apply where the law does not permit it to be limited (for example, intent or gross negligence).
8. Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the app itself, its source code, interface design, icon and the name “codeblanks” belong to codeblanks. Open-source libraries used in the app remain subject to their own licences.
9. Google Play terms
If you obtained the app through Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. Where Google's terms and these terms conflict as to distribution, updating or removal of the app, Google's terms govern that matter.
10. Updates and discontinuation
codeblanks reserves the right to update the app, add or remove features, and to stop developing it. If a feature is removed, reasonable effort will be made to preserve a way to export the data that feature produced. Even if development stops, the version installed on your device keeps working and your data stays on your device.
11. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The current text is always published on this page and the effective date above is changed. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. Rights granted to you by consumer legislation that cannot be limited by contract are unaffected by this clause.
